As you can see below, our therapists have an excellent standard of training and are dedicated to continuing their professional development in order to maintain this standard.

 

Candy Sutherland

Candy is a Remedial Massage Therapist registered with Massage New Zealand and has gained her Diploma in Massage Therapy from the Canterbury College of Natural Medicine (CCNM). She also has a Post Graduate Certificate in Advanced Sports Massage and a Certificate in Reflexology, and is interested in Ayurvedic Medicine, also currently fascinated with the myofascial system and various techniques of release. Candy is passionate about massage and the positive effects it offers. Not only does it assist in reducing pain, improving the body’s range of motion, but it also provides a psychological and emotional boost benefiting the whole body. Candy works with a variety of clients from elite athletes, yogi’s, mums to office workers, focusing on injury rehabilitation and reducing the effects of chronic conditions improving postural awareness and overall well being of her clients. Candy also works with many pregnant women through the duration of their pregnancies.  On a personal level Candy is passionate about yoga and has a good “vocabulary” of stretches which she would like to share with you if need be.

 

Katrina Herbert

Katrina graduated from Canterbury College of Natural Medicine with a Diploma in Massage Therapy. She also has a Bachelor of Arts majoring in art history from Canterbury University. Katrina is passionate about massage therapy and the many benefits it has on a person’s sense of wellbeing, both physically and mentally. Katrina chose to become a massage therapist because she loves helping people to be their best, recover from injury faster, reduce pain and relieve stress. She has experience in a wide variety of treatment styles ranging from relaxation, pregnancy massage to specific deep tissue and Neuromuscular Therapy to assist in injury rehabilitation.

Katrina enjoys helping her clients to find solutions that will work for them in their every day life. As a therapist, Katrina has a strong focus on her clients self care, she can advise you on small changes you can make to reduce ongoing pain and the likelihood of recurring injury.  She is also very interested in the subtle benefits of aromatherapy and plans to complete her diploma in aromatherapy in the near future. Katrina is currently undertaking postgraduate study in advanced sports massage to further her knowledge of injury rehabilitation and get you back to performing at your best. Katrina enjoys running and yoga for exercise, which she balances with her love of food!

 

Kate Muir

Kate has achieved both a Diploma in Massage Therapy from the Canterbury Colledge of Natural Medicing and a diploma in Graphic design from Natcol Design Technology. As a Remedial Massage Therapist Kate is passionate about the bodies ability to heal itself and aims to help the body through that process. Kate first became interested in massage at a very early age and quickly realised she had the ability to connect with other people through massage. With her kind and caring nature Kate treats each person with respect providing a professional, confidential, and non judgemental environment which facilitates personal growth.

Kate enjoys putting into practice all the different kinds of massage techniques she has learnt through her studies at CCNM. These include Neuromuscular Therapy, Postural Analysis, Relaxation Massage (swedish), Stress Management Massage, Sports Massage, Baby Massage, Pregnancy Massage, and Elderly Massage. She is also interested in the healing properties that aromatherapy has to offer, and if welcomed likes to implement different blends into the massage session to suit each individual.
