Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP)
Are you looking for better work life balance? Do you want greater skills to help you prioritise? Perhaps you just want to have more control over your own life. You know what you want. You are now looking for ways to achieve that success.
The big picture of what an NLP session can give you is the proactive ability for freedom, choice and expansion. Imagine standing on the edge of a ravine. Knowing that where you want to be is on the other side. Now, you could try jumping across the chasm, or climbing down one side and up the other. Both of these options may work, but will involve a high degree of courage and risk with varying success. It will take a lot of effort to attempt the feat, and potentially you will feel worn out by the time you get to the other side.
You could of course put off your leap of faith. Walk along your side of the cliff in the hope of finding a bridge or a narrower spot where it is easier to jump. Though this involves the risk of an unknown amount of time, and no certainty of success, as well as physically wearing you out.
NLP offers you the chance to explore what options are important to you, and gives you the tools to create your own path to success – you could build your own bridge (permanently or for single use), find a ‘magic carpet’, or find wings you never knew you had, to take you to new heights. Maybe move the earth closer, closing the gap off altogether! If you are thinking “I want to cross that gap, but something is stopping me” NLP could be a good option for you.
But what is NLP??
Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) is the study of excellence. A linguist (Dr John Grinder) and a mathematician (Dr Richard Bandler) developed it in the 70’s using the premise that our brain (neuro) creates our communication (linguistic) and we can therefore change our world by being more aware of our thoughts and unconscious behaviours (the ‘programmes’ our brain runs). Being aware of these patterns or programmes, allows us to ‘re-programme’ them for more useful strategies. This means using skilful language techniques and questions along with specific processes to create new neural pathways in the brain – allowing for change easily, and naturally.
NLP works directly with the unconscious mind and is solution based to the highest good of the client. Results are evident after the first session and clients often need far fewer sessions than with traditional coaching, counseling or other psychotherapies. Depending on the topic the client presents with, expect 1 – 3 sessions, although it can be more if required.
